Skulduggery Pleasant- This novel's main character is Stephanie Edgley's, who wishes for something more than an ordinary life. Things are about to change for Stephanie who inherits her novelist uncles estate. After spending a night alone in the mansion, she is attacked by a strange man, who demands for her to hand him a "key". During the attack a mysterious man known as Skulduggery Pleasant arrives and saves her. He is a well-dressed talking skeleton. Together both of them journey into a world of magic to overcome an ancient evil, who is trying to acquire her uncle's sceptre. In the end Stephanie and Skulduggery Pleasant are the heroes in the novel overcoming evil.
