Peak- This story is about fourteen year old Peak Marcello, who lives in New York City and loves to climb. He is caught climbing a sky scraper and is sent away to live with his father in Thailand. His father is an avid mountain climber who wants him to be the youngest person to climb Mt. Everest. During his stay with his father, Peak discovers that his dad will be making money by having him climb Mt. Everest. Peak builds new relationships with the people he is climbing with especially Sun-jo. In the end Peak allows Sun-Jo to complete the climb.It is a very good story with a surprising twist at the end. Smith, the author is able to keep the reader interested and hooked with the relationship between father and son and the adventures on the highest mountain in the world.
